The motorway on-ramp linking South Road to the Southern Motorway was closed permanently yesterday.

Transit New Zealand signs warning of the closure have been in place for the better part of a month.

The organisation says the permanent closure of the on-ramp is part of the 4- laning process on the Southern Motorway.

Drivers filmed by 9 Local News all seemed to be approaching the changed layout cautiously.
