A severe weather watch is in place as MetService predicts heavy snow for parts of the lower South Island tomorrow.

Southland and Otago should expect snow overnight to 200 metres, while snow showers were expected to affect parts of Dunedin and the Clutha District.

Heavy snow as low as 100m could be expected in some of these areas and accumulation of 10-15cm of snow could be experienced above 200m from tomorrow morning to the early afternoon.
