Some of the worlds best shearers and woolhandlers converged on Balclutha recently for the Otago Championships.

It's a chance for teams looking to do well in the World Champs, to get practice on New Zealand sheep and wool.

Around 220 shearing and woolhandling competitors were taking part from a record 32 countries.
