Emergency Management Southland has secured a further $170,000 in funding to help prepare a plan for when the South Island's Alpine Fault causes a major earthquake.

The funding for Project Alpine Fault Magnitude 8 was announced by Civil Defence Minister Hon Kris Faafoi as part of the 2018 Resilience Fund.
