Farm sales remain strong in Southland and Otago, with 25more farms sold in the past three months than this time last year.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand data shows there were 47 farm sales in Otago for the three months ending February 2017, seventeen more than last year.

In Southland, there were 30 eight farm sales for the same period which was eight more than the corresponding time last year.

REINZ information shows an increase in the region of inquiries for sheep and beef properties.

The same holds for Otago, but with a tougher market where values exceed $5 million.
