The Dunedin City Council experienced a partial telephone system failure today.

A hardware component fault was located in the system, which blocked calls both to and from the DCC’s general enquiries number for a period of just over two hours.

Network Services Manager, Tim Oaks, says as the telephone system has a back-up, they only experienced a partial failure.

Calls to other DCC sites such as Moana Pool, the Dunedin Public Library and the i-SITE Dunedin Visitor Centre were unaffected.
