Residents yet to enrol for local elections have till the end of the week if they want to have their say on the running of the city and region.

The Electoral Commission has warned voting papers for the postal voting election will only be sent to people enrolled by this Friday.

Registrars of Electors have removed more than 70,000 people nationwide from the roll.

Those are people who have changed address and not updated their enrolment details.

Dunedin City Council, Otago Regional Council and Southern District Health Board elections will be held in October.
