Festive preparations are underway throughout South Otago for the arrival of Santa Claus.

The Clutha Country Santa Parade returns to Balclutha on Saturday with more than 30 groups and floats expected to take part.

Among those rummaging through dusty decoration boxes to decorate their float, are pupils and teachers from Clutha Valley School in Clydevale.
