Wendy Frew told her Southern Steel team-mates they were in for a treat yesterday, and she did not disappoint them.

The Steel netball team, Southland Sharks basketball team, and the Southland cricket team have all won national titles this year.

In response, the Invercargill City Council decided to throw a ticker-tape parade to celebrate.
