The Oamaru airport runway was home to 90 cars and motorbikes at the weekend, all going as fast they could over a 1/4 of a mile.

The Whitestone Rodders organise the drag racing event twice a year and anyone can take part.

There was a slight head wind but that didn't seem to slow anyone down.
