The cold front has hit Alexandra, bringing snow flurries to the town centre from midday today

The snow showers, interspersed with sunshine were heavy at times, almost obscuring the Alexandra hillside clock.

The town had been expecting to reach a high of eight degrees however locals reported the temperature around one PM was just three degrees celcius which MetService said would feel more like minus one.
