A 93-year-old hall in Timaru has received an upgrade following a devastating fire two years ago.

The hall, owned by the Timaru District Council, has been unusable until now.

Unions are pleased with the decision made by New Zealand First and its leader Winston Peters last night.

Just before 7pm Peters announced New Zealand First would go into a coalition with the New Zealand Labour Party.

This afternoon Jacinda Ardern announced which MPs will have cabinet positions, David Clark and Clare Curran are among the names.
